Question by : Is it okay if the side of your foot hangs off the side of custom orthotics?
I just got custom orthotics today, and they came in the mail. They are a bit long but I have rolled in feet so the rigid part is near the arch, and the toe part is padding that can be trimmed to size. But also, on the side that doesn’t have the arch to keep my feet from rolling in, my little toe hangs off a bi because I have wide feet. Will this make a difference? It isn’t the part that will be supported and feel fine in my shoes.

I’m assuming you wear othrotics because your feet are flat, thus over-pronate (roll in). If this is the case, there are exercises to correct your condition, which you should consider start doing. Orthotics won’t do much, except make the problems associated with having flat feet less painful. Perhaps you are unaware of this, but having flat feet misalign one’s ankles, knees, hips and lower back. Myriad problems result from tendons, ligaments and muscle in said areas being over-stretched, twisted and simply worked in ways not meant to. If you wish to learn about the exercises to be done to correct flat feet, contact me.
